Host family - dialoge sprachinstitut - Learn German in Germany

This accomodation enables further opportunity to practice the language and to experience a taste of local life. Students stay alone (single room) or with one other student of a different native language (double room). The maximum distance to the school is 20 minutes. This accommodation-form includes breakfast and one warm meal per day.

The host families are carefully selected, always with regard to the school's philosophy. We know all of them personnally and we have worked for years with the majority of them. They are all families who like having guests.

New families are carefully inspected by our family agent. The family agent is using a catalogue of quality criteria to judge a family. Families are also a part of the IALC Certificate of Quality.

Of course we constantly control "the quality" of our host families. All the students are requested to assess their host families through the writing of a confidental report.

Address
Students receive the adress of the host family at latest 2 weeks before the starting date of the course. Together with the address we'll send you a city map with the location of the host family marked on it.

Allergies
Students have to indicate allergies on the enrolment form. We have families that offer rooms and food prepared for the needs of students that suffer from allergies.

Arrival day
The arrival day is the day before the course starts, by the rule Sunday. Students should give information concerning their exact date and time of arrival at latest three days before the course starts. If the student travels by train his familiy will pick him up at the station (families are available from Sunday 3.00 p.m.).

Departure
Has to take place on saturday before 12.00 a.m. Exceptions may be arranged on request.

Distance from school
All the families live at most 15 min. far from the school and all of them live in the town area of Lindau.

Experience
Most of the families have had students for years and so they know their problems and needs. They are an important aid especially for our younger students.

Food
Half-board for adult courses includes breakfast and one warm meal (dinner as a rule). The host families receive the course schedule and take it into consideration. We also have vegetarian families.

House roules
Students have to observe the individual rules of their host family.

Language
Families are used to speak clear German and they can offer support. In doublerooms we always accomodate students with different nationalities.

Laundry
Student's laundry will be washed every 10 days approximately.

Room
We offer double rooms and single rooms. In case of double rooms we guarantee the accomodation together with a student of a different native language.

Smokers
We have smoker and nonsmoker families. Please indicate on the enrolment form.

Special wishes
We can usually consider the special requirements of students: families with children or without children, pets, vegetarian, smoker or non smoker etc.

Telephone
Students may only use the phone with permission of the host familiy.

Transfer
Host families pick the student up from the main station on the arrival day. Students have to inform the host family about their exact date and time of arrival at latest on Friday before the course starts.
