Lindau & region
"A nice place to live in is an easier place to learn in" as an old German saying goes.
Lindau, founded in the year 950 A.D., with 26.000 inhabitants, is a picturesque, medieval town on an island in Lake Constance, Germany's biggest lake. The Lake Constance region is one of Germany's most magnificent regions of unsurpassed beauty. The lovely landscape with small lakes, orchards, vineyards, small forests and the panorama of the Austrian and Swiss Alps create a fantastic natural scene. The old part of the town with its harbour, churches, towers, narrow lanes and small places attract and fascinate visitors from all over the world.
Throughout the year there are many cultural events like carneval, historical festivals, concerts, performances and international congresses.
The area offers a wide range of leisure activities and has a high recreation value.
